Second annual IT disaster and cyber recovery trends and insights report

IT-related service disruptions are increasing and enterprises are most concerned about recovering from cyber attacks. While operating in the cloud can have resilience benefits, businesses still see disaster recovery as a key focus for cloud workloads. To address this and other trends, businesses are rethinking their IT DR strategies and look to emerging technologies, like artificial intelligence (AI), and automation to help transform IT DR in the coming years. 

In its second year, this report, based on interviews with 300 organizations in 10 industries, highlights key challenges and opportunities for IT disaster and cyber recovery. 

This year’s key findings show that businesses: 

  • Experienced an increase in IT-related service disruptions and longer times to full recovery
  • Note that increasing regulation is a factor impacting resilience and IT disaster recovery processes
  • Recognize they need to increase investment in IT disaster recovery automation
  • Anticipate that AI will transform IT disaster recovery
