New features in the Cutover Platform for Q1 2026

General Availability

Release 2025.25

Custom Fields Audit Log

Get clear visibility into who made changes and when to Custom Fields by downloading the new audit log. This helps investigate breaking updates, and ensures both UI- and API-driven changes are fully traceable. To learn more, see our Custom Fields Audit Log article here.

Inline Edit Shortcuts for Tasks

Editing tasks just got faster. You can now use Task Create shortcuts to edit the most common task details, including Stream, task assignee, task type, and duration, without opening the task edit panel. This streamlines your workflow and saves time. Editing options are available directly from the task list. To learn more and see how to trigger these shortcuts, see the Edit tasks section of this article

Update: Improved Liquid Filter Support for Dynamic Referencing in Integrations

Integration custom fields now fully support Liquid filters (e.g., plus, minus, replace, remove) for accurate dynamic referencing calculations.

Additionally, Runbook attributes like {{Runbook.parent_version_id}} now interpolate reliably across Custom and Event Integrations.

No setup is needed; these features work automatically for existing payloads. Learn more at our Developer Portal here.

Update: Clearer RTO Overrides in Linked Runbooks

Parent runbook RTO start overrides now feature clearer indicators, helping users trace timing sources and interpret RTO/RTA results accurately.

These enhancements simplify tracking RTO/RTA timings in linked runbooks. For details on RTO and linked tasks, refer to this article.

New Layout Preferences Enhancements

We've added workspace layout preferences that save and restore your interface setup across sessions.

  • The blue left-hand panel state is now preserved.
  • Right-hand panel state and width (apps, task edit, runbook integrations) persist even after clearing your cache.
  • App heights and expand/collapse settings also remain persistent.

These persistent updates enhance efficiency and are unaffected by cache clearing. To revert changes, see our Manage Personal Details page here.

Release 2026.1

Next Gen ITDR (NGI) Snippets Now Support Custom Fields and Approval Workflows

Snippets now support custom fields restricted to that runbook type, while existing runbook-level custom fields not restricted to a runbook type remain available. Additionally, approval workflows can now be assigned to snippets for improved governance.

Layout Preferences Enhancements

Filter panel preferences now persist across sessions, ensuring your workspace configuration is maintained.

Release 2026.2

Meet the New Cutover AI Assistant!

We’re thrilled to introduce the Cutover AI Assistant, now built right into the runbook task list UI. This powerful conversational assistant helps you quickly understand, manage, and improve runbooks, templates, and snippets using natural language - no more manual reviews needed.

Whether you’re planning, responding to incidents, migrating systems, or releasing updates, the AI Assistant supports you every step of the way. Powered by Cutover’s AI Service, it combines and expands on the capabilities of AI Improve for a smarter, faster, and more flexible experience.

Improved handling of snippet tasks after runbook rehearsals

Snippet task behavior in dynamic runbook rehearsals now allows scenario testing without altering planned workflows.

Snippets added during rehearsals are treated as temporary and automatically removed when the runbook returns to Planning after completion or cancellation.

Imported teams persist even after these tasks are deleted. Users receive notifications at the rehearsal start and can restore previous versions to retain any rehearsal-added tasks.

Improved RTO Validation and Task Placement in Templates

We improved template RTO validation; if a manual RTO between tasks is exceeded, a warning appears until resolved.

To maintain runbook structure, RTO end tasks can no longer be root-level.

Import cURL to auto-populate integration requests

Streamline API integration setup and minimize configuration errors by importing cURL commands when managing integrations to auto-populate request fields.

Simply select Import cURL and paste your command. Cutover will automatically fill in:

  • Request URL
  • Headers
  • Outbound payload

Release 2026.3

RTO Start Tasks Highlighted in Parent View

Selected tasks now clearly show when they are used as the RTO Start for child tasks. Associated child task IDs are displayed in the parent view, making RTO relationships and dependencies easier to understand at a glance. If a task serves as the RTO Start for multiple children, all relevant task IDs are shown.

Release 2026.4

RTO filters visibility is now based on if the setting is enabled

To reduce visual clutter and add clarity, the RTO Workspace filters will only become available when the RTO setting option has been enabled first for at least one Runbook type within the Workspace. Find out how to enable and implement RTO/RTA, visit the Help centre article.

Visual processing indicators during new runbook version creation

When the user creates a new runbook version, a loading spinner will now appear, clearly indicating that the system is processing your request.

To prevent mid-action editing conflict, while the version is being created, all screen interactions for the user creating the new version are temporarily disabled.

Cutover Connect Updates

We’ve made a couple of updates and improvements to Cutover Connect, bringing more secure credential handling and documentation capabilities:

  • Implemented dynamic field referencing for AWS ST, improving secure credential handling.
  • Added a Description field to Cutover Connect Projects to help teams document the purpose of specific connectivity nodes.
